3:20 GOAL FINISH TIME (7:38/mile) Pace Team Leader
Name: Pacer John

Occupation: Regulatory Operations in Pharmaceutical Industry
Home: Grayslake, IL
Age:47
First Marathon: Columbus, Ohio 1989
Fastest Marathon: Columbus, Ohio 1991 (2:43)
Marathon most proud of and why:  All of them - for many different reasons - every marathon race and finish is special, if not I wouldn't be on my 62nd.  My first for achieving a milestone event.  My second because I proved the first wasn't a fluke and was also my first sub-3:00, First Trail Marathon (Death Valley), Second Trail (Superior), First Ultra, First one in a different state, first one pacing, first one in freezing weather, first one in hot weather, first one where I placed in the overall, the 10th consecutive Columbus.....the list goes on.  I love marathoning - what can I say?
Hobbies: Running of course, cycling, tennis, golf, cars and any activity that is physically challenging.  Traveling Internationally and running in the places I visit including the following countries: Japan, Canada, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Germany, New Zealand, Italy, Denmark and Sweden.
Family includes my wife and three daughters, 1 dog and 2 cats - probably the reason I run so much!

3:30 GOAL FINISH TIME (8:01/mile) Pace Team Leader
Name: Pacer Mike
Occupation: Educator
Home: Bay City, MI
Age: 44
First marathon: Columbus, Ohio 2000 (3:01)
Fastest marathon: Nashville, Tennessee 2004 (2:49)
Marathon most proud of and why:  I'm very proud of them all, but the most memorable marathon way my first Boston Marathon.  It's the pinnacle of marathons and the training took a lot of discipline and devotion.  It was congested and chaotic at the start, but ran a negative split and felt strong to the finish!

Hobbies:  Cycling, Tennis, Paddleball, Soccer.  I'm actively involved with kids in my community by coaching basketball and soccer.  I also enjoy playing classical guitar and cinema therapy.

Other pacing experience: St. Louis, Kentucky Derby, Air Force, Detroit, Fargo, Palm Beaches
Pacing Philosophies: "Steady pace finishes the race" - Everyone’s legs usually feel good at the start, so resist the urge to whip up the tempo too soon.  Be ready for an empowering marathon experience.  I'll do my best to keep you motivated and on pace to deliver you to the finish.

Marathon finish you are most proud of and why: My first - Baltimore 2003. My
first marathon was special because I had only taken up running three years
prior to that. The marathon seemed like such a lofty, unreachable
goal...and that was my reason for deciding to run one. But with training and
a great network of support - both runner & non-runner friends I ran and
finished, 4:05. Three years later and I'm hooked!

5:00 GOAL FINISH TIME (11:27 min/mi) Pace Team Leader
Name: Pacer Molly
Occupation: student/ coach
Home: Bay City, MI
Age: 23
First marathon: Traverse City, MI 2003
Fastest marathon: Detroit, MI 2005 (3:34)
Marathon most proud of and why- Detroit was most memorable because at the 17 mile mark I was on target for a 3:20 finishing time; sounds awesome, right? Well it was chilly out and I stopped to use the Johnny on the Spot and when I tried to resume my running my knee wouldn’t bend. I continued running straight legged, all 9.2 miles until I reached the finish. The best thing about that day was that I ran my PR, hurt and all.
Hobbies: Next to running I enjoy biking (road and mountain), taking my dog, Springer, for long walks and of course runs. I am currently coaching girls basketball, at the college level and a 6th grade boys team. I love spending time with my family; I have 5 sisters and a bunch of little nieces and nephews. I love spending time with my boyfriend, Pacer Mike.

Other pacing experiences: Akron, Pittsburgh, Twin Cities, Air Force
Other hobbies: Lionel train repair: I take rusty broken devices no one wants and turn them into shiny working things few people want.
